The Tastiest Low Carb Pizza Recipe

When you fancy a bit of comfort food but want to inject a little elegance into it, try this fig, Parma ham and rocket pizza recipe using our thin and crispy Lizza Pizza Bases.

If you want to make this pizza vegan and want a vegan alternative to Parma ham, shiitake mushrooms are a great replacement. You can swap the same weight or volume of Parma ham with shiitake mushrooms, and they have a savoury taste and chewy texture that is similar to Parma ham. Sear the shiitake mushrooms in (vegan) butter to enhance their rich taste before adding to the pizza.

Similarly, you can replace the mozzarella with a vegan alternative too.

The figs add a lovely slight sweetness to the pizza, adding an extra depth and dimension to the overall flavour!

Parma Ham, Rocket, and Fig Pizza

  • Ingredients
  • 1 Lizza Pizza Base
  • 2 tbsp Lizza Organic Tomato Sauce
  • 2 fresh figs, sliced
  • 1 tsp honey (runny)
  • 125g mozzarella, torn into pieces (or vegan alternative)
  • 6 slices Parma ham (or shiitake mushrooms, sliced and prepared as mentioned above)
  • 20g rocket
  • Balsamic glaze to serve (optional)
  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  2. Spread the tomato sauce over the pizza base.
  3. Arrange the sliced figs and torn mozzarella pieces on the pizza.
  4. Drizzle the honey over the top.
  5. Place the pizza in the oven for around 15 minutes or until the mozzarella has melted and the figs have roasted nicely.
  6. Once cooked, scatter the Parma ham (or the cooked shiitake mushrooms) over the top and then add the rocket.
  7. Drizzle with the balsamic glaze, if using, and serve.
